Walter W. “Bill” Cadwell Sr., 86, of rural Sweet Springs, MO, formerly of Marshall, MO, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022, at his home.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. There will be no visitation but friends may call any time after 8:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Saline Animal League. Born March 15, 1936, in Galesburg, IL, he was the son of the late Amos Oliver Eugene Cadwell and George Anna Cozad Cadwell. On May 29, 1954, he married Donna C. Lipskey who preceded him in death on April 10, 1997. On October 23, 2004, in Marshall, he married Barbara “Bobbi” Baker who survives of the home. He lived in Sweet Springs the last 16 years, moving from Marshall, and retired from the Marshall Housing Authority. He was also owner/operator of a professional painting business. He and Bobbi started a dog rescue at home rescuing between 22 and 24 puppies. He attended Marshall Family Worship Center and enjoyed making things with wood.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbi; four children, Karen “Candy” Kirkham of Kahoka, MO, Paula Cadwell Lepine (John) of Fort Smith, Canada N.W.T, Lorri Cadwell Turner (Mark) of the state of Washington and Walter W. Cadwell Jr. (Velda) of Marshall; son-in-law, Keith Ellefson of Marshall; 15 grandchildren,  Cindy, Travis, David, Michelle, Destiny, Chesery, Justin, Keri, Kelly, Bridgett, Megan, Heather, Sean, Holley, Emily; several great-grandchildren; Bobbi’s children, Don Baldwin Jr. of Portland, OR, Cara Wisler (Robert) of Versailles, MO, Tim Stone (Sarah) of Grain Valley, MO and Arti Dautenhahn (Stephanie) of Rolla, MO and their families; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and first wife, Donna; Bill was preceded in death by one daughter, Micki Ellefson; one grandson, Keith “Bear” Ellefson; and seven siblings.
