
An Independence man was charged with multiple felonies in Johnson County on Monday, December 5, 2022.
According to a report from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department, on June 14, 2021 the Sheriff’s Department responded to a call at 1804 Northwest Highway 50 near Kingsville, for a reported shooting. Two victims had left the residence and driven to a hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds to one of the victims.
The victims stated to law enforcement during an interview that Deontae Hall and a co-defendant allegedly robbed the victims for marijuana. During the robbery, Hall allegedly shot one of the victims twice, once in the leg and once in the stomach.
During an interview, the co-defendant identified Hall as the person he was with during the June 14, 2021 shooting, stating that Hall had shot the victim and then ran back to his car yelling to leave.
According to court documents, Hall was charged with first degree assault, robbery and armed criminal action.
Hall was arraigned on Monday, December 5, 2022 and has a counsel status meeting scheduled for Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Johnson County Circuit Court.
No bond has been set.
