Dorothy Jeanette (Greiwe) Heimsoth, 90, of Concordia, MO, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Good Shepherd Care Community in Concordia.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 19, 2022, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Concordia with Pastor Michael Pottschmidt and Pastor Andrew Lehenbauer officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Grade School Kitchen or Good Shepherd Hospice in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.  An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com

Dorothy was born to Edwin and Lorna Franz Greiwe on May 29, 1932 and baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alma, MO on June 5, 1932. Her sponsors were Elda (Franz) Fuchs and Dora (Greiwe) Dietrich.  She attended Trinity Lutheran School in Alma and was confirmed on April 2, 1946.   Dorothy was a 1950 graduate of Alma High School where she was a cheerleader and on the girls basketball team.

On July, 23, 1950, she married Victor Harold Heimsoth at Trinity in Alma.  He predeceased her on January 12, 2002.  Dorothy was a homemaker, 4-H Leader and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she was a past member of St. Paul’s Ladies Aid #1 and the Concordia Homemakers Extension Club.  In addition to her work at home and on the farm, Dorothy worked at Rohman’s Thriftway Grocery for several years and then retired after 29 years as a cook at St. Paul’s Lutheran Grade School.  She prided herself on knowing the names of all the students she served.

Survivors include one daughter, Sharon (Steven) Oetting, of Concordia; three sons: Douglas Heimsoth (Mary) of Sweet Springs, Rick Heimsoth (Sheree) and Brett Heimsoth (Cindy) of Concordia.  She also had fourteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, three sisters-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Victor; great-grandson, Collin Oetting; three brothers: Ralph, Melvin “Ducky” and Homer “Cotton” Greiwe; and one sister, Helen Erdman.

Pallbearers will be Sean and Clinton Oetting, Eric and Austin Jones, Peyton Trautman, Cass Heimsoth and Malik Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Stephanie Oetting, Amy Heimsoth, Blake Heimsoth, Kellie Berry, Tommy Heimsoth, Sharla Heimsoth and Bailey Heimsoth.
