Celia Kathryn “Kay” Slagle, 88, of Jefferson City, MO, died Sunday, December 18, 2022, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall.  Burial will follow in Nelson Cemetery.  Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to Compassus Hospice and an online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born February 8, 1934, in Nelson, she was the daughter of the late Roy Kenneth Smith and Kathryn Grossman Smith.  Kay was raised in the Nelson area and was a graduate of Nelson High School.  On October 4, 1953, she married Willie Wesley Slagle who preceded her in death on May, 28, 2021.  Kay and Willie moved to Jefferson City in 1969 where she worked as an administrative assistant for the Jefferson City Board of Education.  Kay was a member of First Baptist Church in Jefferson City.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Slagle of Jefferson City and Stephen W. Slagle (Pat) of Essex Junction, VT; and one grandson, Dustin Slagle.
