
The Marshall City Council discussed a retail sales tax on marijuana during its meeting on Monday, December 19, 2022.
City Counselor Josh Taylor stated that due to the passage of Amendment Three in Missouri, the city is allowed to place a 3 percent sales tax on retail sales of marijuana in the City of Marshall.
The tax would only apply to individuals that purchase marijuana at retail stores.
The council will vote on an ordinance to put the measure on the April 4, 2023 municipal ballot at the the January 3, 2023 city council meeting.
