The Concordia Board of Aldermen discussed financing for future water and sewer system improvements during its meeting on Monday, December 19.

City Administrator Dale Klussman said there were several water and sewer projects the city would need funding for. The City of Concordia did not receive any grants to help fund the projects. Klussman said the improvements would cost an estimated $9.8 million.

Klussman said the city would request about $11 million for the improvements, just to have some financial flexibility. Klussman said the board was considering a ballot question to borrow the money from citizens.

This allows the board to come up with a plan for the improvements for the next 10 years. The discussion will continue in the next board meeting.
