The Saline County Commission approved an order starting the Law Enforcement Restitution Fund during its meeting on Wednesday, December 21, 2022.

Saline County Prosecuting Attorney Tim Thompson brought the final order before the commission stating that a fee would be assessed to certain defendants.

The fund would be used for various law enforcement uses.

Thompson also stated that a board would have to be appointed to oversee the funds with two members appointed by the Saline County Presiding Commissioner, two members by the Saline County Sheriff and one by the Saline County Coroner.

The commission approved the order.
