A winter storm warning and wind chill warning have been issued in the KMMO listening area.

The winter storm warning is in effect from 12 a.m. Thursday, December 22 to 12 a.m. Friday, December 23. The wind chill warning is in effect from 12 p.m. Thursday, December 22 to 12 p.m. Saturday, December 24.

Several inches of snow are expected, with total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches and winds gusting as high as 45 miles per hour (mph). Dangerously cold wind chills are also expected. Plan on slippery road conditions. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes.
The counties affected include Saline, Johnson, Lafayette, Howard, Pettis, and Cooper in the KMMO listening area.
