Barbara Lee Davenport, 83, of Marshall, MO, died Thursday, December 22, 2022, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating.  Burial will follow in Ridge Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Roy Blunt Center for Alzheimer’s Research.  An online guestbook is available at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born January 31, 1939, in rural Saline County, she was the daughter of the late William Jasper Alspaw and Lola Gertrude Breshears Alspaw.  On March 28, 1954, she married William Henry Davenport who preceded her in death on June 15, 2011.  She lived in Saline County most of her life and worked at Fitzgibbon Hospital as a nurse’s aide, ward clerk, and retired after 33 years of service in materials management.  She also had worked in healthcare at the Blosser Home for Women, Golden Oaks and Westport Assisted Living.  As well as working in healthcare all those years, Barbara was a homemaker for her family and a caretaker for many of her family members.  She enjoyed playing cards, games, and going to dirt track races.

She is survived by five children: Lola Christine Jones, Terry Lee Davenport, Vickie Lynn Gochenour (Kelly), William Henry Davenport Jr. (Stacey) and Roger Allen Davenport (Melody), all of Marshall; son-in-law, Timothy Gibson of Marshall; 25 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one brother, John David “J.D.” Alspaw (Sandra) of Malta Bend; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two children, Randall Scott Davenport and Lori Ann Gibson; one grandson, Kendall Lewis Jones; a son-in-law, Robert Lee Jones Sr.; one brother, William Jasper “Junior” Alspaw Jr.; a sister, Viola Gertrude Charlton; and a sister in infancy.
