
Steven Lynn Moore, 72, of Boonville and formerly of Omaha, NE, passed away at his home on December 12, 2022.
Steve was born on June 2, 1950 in Minneapolis, MN a son of the late Eugene Dennis Moore and Betty (Eveland) Moore. He married Judy McQuitty on December 24, 1997 in San Diego, CA. She survives at their home.
Steve was a U.S. Army veteran serving honorably during the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Korea. He was an award- winning Honda dealership car salesman in El Cajon, CA and he enjoyed classic muscle cars. His most recent employment included working as an OATS driver in Boonville.
His favorite activities included playing his guitar and listening to music from the 1960’s and 70’s, researching family history, genealogy and studying Howard County Missouri history.
In addition to his wife, Judy, Steve is survived by a daughter, Meghan Moore; two brothers, Mike Moore (Suzy) and Tom Moore (Sue); two step-daughters, Amber Bradshaw (Bill Harrison) and Ginger Bradshaw; a sister, Barbara Brand; two brothers-in-law, Jim McQuitty (Carolyn) and Chris McQuitty; three grandchildren, Callista, Brandon and Wyatt Moore; two step-grandchildren, Tegan and Caden Harrison; two nieces, Rachael and Melissa and by four nephews, Adam, Alex, Matt and Bryan. He is also survived by his maternal aunt, Carolyn Garrison.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by a nephew, Mark Moore.
Services honoring Steve’s life will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 30 at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin.
