The Marshall City Council approved an ordinance placing a sales tax of three percent on all tangible personal property retail sales of adult use marijuana sold within the City of Marshall on the April 2023 municipal election ballot during its meeting on Tuesday, January 17, 2023.

Marshall City Clerk Julie Lewis read the ordinance to the council.

Individuals must be 21 years of age to possess marijuana in the state. The tax revenue would be designated to the City of Marshall general fund. The council approved the ordinance by unanimous vote.
