The Salisbury High School Speech Team competed at Lexington’s Battle of the Bales meet on Saturday, January 14, 2023.

The team finished 4th overall, and the following members placed in individual events:

-Kate Kottman and Drake Whitman placed first in Duo Interpretation,
-Kate Kottoman and Drake Whitman placed second in Improv Duet Acting,
-Drake Whitman placed second in US Extemporaneous Speaking,
-Mason Duncan placed second in International Extemporaneous Speaking,
-Davis Conway placed second in Humorous Interpretation,
-Briana Ponder placed third in Poetry Reading,
-Annie Nugent placed fourth in Storytelling,
-Morgan Kallmeyer placed fifth in Dramatic Interpretation,
-Morgan Kallmeyer and Vallorie Kinnison place fifth in Improv Duet Acting,
-Vallorie Kinnison and Collier Kuhlman placed fifth in Duo Interpretation,
-Collier Kuhlman placed sixth in Dramatic Interpretation,
-Kaden Kirchhoff placed sixth in Radio Speaking.

The SHS Speech team also competed at Fort Osage on January 6 and 7 and Briana Ponder placed 6th in Program of Oral Interpretation.
