An Armstrong woman has been charged with two felonies in Howard County.
According to a probable cause statement, a Howard County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to a residence in rural Fayette on Sunday, January 15, 2023 for a reported burglary. A victim reported his residence had been broken into and personal effects damaged.
The deputy observed broken glass in multiple locations. The living room appeared to be in disarray and a television and gaming computer and accessories had been destroyed by a blunt object. A television in a bedroom had also been destroyed and several items vandalized. A bus located in the yard was also found to have a window broken.
A fence on the property was damaged and tire tracks and plastic pieces of a vehicle were found. The pieces matched a vehicle allegedly belonging to Rebecca Defoor. The victim alleged Defoor had done the damage to the property.
The deputy contacted the Boonville Police Department for help in attempting to locate the vehicle. Defoor and her vehicle were located at a residence in Boonville by police and the vehicle had heavy damage to the front of the driver’s side. Defoor admitted to breaking into the residence and damaging property inside because she had been thrown out.
During a search of the vehicle, the deputy located a piece of her bumper in the back seat as well as a Love’s uniform jacket with the victim’s name sewn into it.
Defoor has been charged with felonies for burglary and property damage.
Bond was set at $20,000 cash only, with special conditions.
Defoor has a bond review hearing scheduled for Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Howard County Circuit Court.
