
The Sweet Springs Board of Aldermen considered a bill to impose a three percent sales tax on all tangible personal property retail sales of marijuana sold in the city during its meeting on Monday, January 23, 2023.
Many other cities and towns across the state have passed similar legislation to comply with the state’s new laws. The board passed the first and second readings of the ordinance and passed the bill.
In other news, the board voted to offer the Chief of Police position to Shane Gooden during closed session.
