Boonville Schools Superintendent Dr. Sarah Marriott announced recently her intention to leave the district.

Dr. Marriott informed the Boonville Board of Education she will be assuming the role of Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources in the Liberty School District.

Dr. Marriott assumed the position of Boonville Superintendent in July 2018.

According to a release from the district, during Dr. Marriott’s tenure, the district has made dramatic improvements in improving and repairing all district facilities, especially building safety.

Dr. Marriott has focused on fiscal management during her tenure assisting in securing over $5 million in grant funds for the district. The district has now increased the capital projects fund balance, which will ensure adequate funds are available for facility emergencies and immediate needs. Additional focus was also placed on balancing and implementing salary increases for staff.

Dr. Marriott will be leaving effective July 1, 2023.

The board will begin a nationwide search for a superintendent for the 2023-2024 school year and a committee will get feedback from staff and community members in the hiring process..
