An Illinois man drowned in a pond at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Warrensburg on Sunday, February 5, 2023.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Edward Taylor of Riverdale, Illinois drove his vehicle into the pond, exited and attempted to swim to shore. Taylor became immersed and drowned in the incident.

Authorities recovered Taylor and his body was released to the Johnson County Coroner.

The incident occurred at 1:18 a.m.
