MU Extension Offices are offering free tax preparation at locations in the KMMO listening area. The offices provide the service through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. The program has operated for over 50 years offering free tax assistance.

Individuals that can apply include:

-People who generally make less than $60,000 per year,
-Persons with disabilities,
-Limited English-speaking taxpayers.

VITA volunteers are limited in preparation scope and will not file farm, business or other complex tax returns.
