The Lexington Police Department responded to an incident at Leslie Bell School.

According to the department, the Lexington School Resource Officer was alerted of two males dressed in black hoodies and wearing ski masks attempting to enter through the back door of the Leslie Bell School. The School Staff went in to a lock down immediately. The Lexington Police Department responded and was on scene in less than two minutes. For extra security, officers cleared the building and made sure all students and staff was safe.

Lafayette County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the school to secure the scene. Uniformed Officers were left in the building while more officers cleared the grounds.

The two suspects were not found on school grounds, but after further investigation, the department does have two person’s of interest and are following all leads at this time. There was no injuries to report to staff or students.
