An Odessa man was seriously injured in a one-vehicle accident in Lafayette County on Tuesday, February 14, 2023.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred when a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Tyler Speer of Grain Valley, struck standing water in the roadway and traveled off the left side of the road. Speer proceeded to overcorrect causing the vehicle to return to the road and run off the right side, striking a ditch and overturning.

21-year-old passenger Julian Lile was transported by Sni Valley EMS to Centerpoint Hospital with serious injuries. Speer suffered minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.

The accident occurred at 8:13 p.m. on Interstate 70 east of exit 31 in Lafayette County.
