
A Fayette woman was charged with two felonies in Howard County on Friday, February 10, 2023.
According to a probable cause statement, a Fayette Police Officer was informed by dispatch of a caller needing an officer to contact by phone for a bullying complaint. The officer contacted the individual identified as Susan Weaver. The officer was advised after the phone call Weaver had two active warrants from Randolph County.
The officer and Howard County Sheriff Deputies went the residence where Weaver was located and Weaver answered the door and was asked questions on the bullying. Authorities informed Weaver she was under arrest for the active warrants at which time she attempted to go back into the residence. As the officer reached for her arm Weaver allegedly began to resist. Sheriff Deputies took her to the ground and she was handcuffed by the Fayette Police Officer. While trying to place her in a deputies’ car Weaver allegedly continued to resist and kicked the officer’s hand and stomach.
Weaver was charged with felonies for third degree assault of a special victim and resisting arrest.
Bond was set at $25,000 cash only.
Weaver was arraigned on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Howard County Circuit Court.
