A 52-year-old Johnson county man that was reported missing was found deceased on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.

According to a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office release, office members responded to the 300 Block of Northwest 575 to continue the search for Dale Mathews.

The Sheriff’s Office contacted pilot Jared Sisk, who offered to assist with his helicopter in the search.

Several volunteers responded to Hazel Hill Lake to assist in the ground search which had been organized by family and friends.

During the aerial search, Mathews was located.
