The Saline County Career Center Future Business Leaders of America Chapter traveled to Chillicothe to compete at the District 19 Leadership Conference on Monday, February 13, 2023. Members in performance events worked diligently to prepare speeches and presentations and research topics related to the business industry. Other members took tests in advance of the competition and learned the results of their efforts at the conference.

The official ceremonies began with a National Anthem performance by SCCC members Ella Green and Lauren Chaney-King. Holly Huston and Lauren Chaney-King have served on the 2022-2023 District Officer Team. They led the conference in opening ceremonies, conducted official district business and hosted a workshop. Holly has served as Vice President of FBLA Relations and Lauren was Vice President of Communications.

Two SCCC FBLA members were elected to the 2023-2024 District 19 Officer Team. Holly Huston will lead the district as President and Kaylee Guevarra will serve as the Vice President of FBLA Relations. Twenty eight schools make up District 19 and each chapter may be represented by a maximum of two students on the seven-member leadership team. To earn their offices, the students had to complete an application process which included submitting letters of recommendation and completing the FBLA Business Achievement Awards.

Thirty SCCC FBLA members represented the chapter in district competition. The following members will advance to the State Leadership Conference in Springfield from April 16-18.

-Introduction to Event Planning 2nd Place- Kristine Morales

-Introduction to Business Concepts 4th Place- Randy Vazquez
-Introduction to FBLA 4th Pace- Serenity Perdomo
-Introduction to Financial Math 5th Place- Sydney Shivers
