A Lee’s Summit man was killed in a one-vehicle accident in Saline County on Thursday, February 16, 2023.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred when a vehicle driven by 79-year-old Dale Montgomery slid off the right side of the roadway, struck a guardrail and overturned onto the passenger side.

Montgomery was pronounced deceased at the scene. 73-year-old passenger Thomas Mumm, also of Lee’s Summit was transported by Saline County EMS to University Hospital in Columbia with moderate injuries.

The accident occurred at 6:32 p.m. on Interstate 70 at Highway 65 in Saline County.
