A Carrollton man has been charged with several felonies after firing several shots at people in Carroll County on February 19, 2023.

According to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, 29-year-old Jacob Davis was in possession of a pistol while under the influence of drugs and alcohol at the time of the incident. Davis pointed the firearm at a man and woman and fired a shot in their direction, causing them to fear for their lives. The victims exited the residence, causing Davis to chase after them, where he allegedly fired three more shots.

Authorities located four spent 40 caliber casings, marijuana, and a white powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine inside the residence.

Court documents say Davis is charged with two counts of second degree attempted assault, two counts of armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, and possession of a controlled substance. No bond has been allowed.

Davis has an initial appearance scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 22, at Carroll County Circuit Court.
