The Higginsville Board of Aldermen considered a bill to annex a strip of land where the Water Plant is currently located during its meeting on Tuesday, February 21.

The property was noted during a recent audit of city property deeds. The board previously held a public hearing addressing the annexation on February 6. The strip of land totals about an acre. The board approved the bill to annex the unincorporated property.

The board also recognized Chief of Police Tom Long for 20 years of service to the city.

In other news, the board set meeting dates for the Administration Committee and the Transportation Committee. Both meetings are scheduled for March 13.
