The Cooper County Public Health Center has received grant funding for free Narcan distribution.

Narcan can reverse the effects of opioid overdose and can save a life. The nasal spray should be administered if an individual is suspected of an overdose and does not harm individual if no opioids are involved.

Narcan kits are available to anyone at risk of experiencing an opiate-related overdose, family and friends of a person at risk of experiencing an opiate-related overdose, anyone that could assist a person at risk of an overdose and public or private business, civic organizations, churches and anyone else that has contact with the public.

Cooper County had nine fatalities last year due to drug overdoses.

The Cooper County Public Health Center is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Information on how to use Narcan can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEOq6fUWNtA.
