A Roeland Park, Kansas man was arrested after a chase in Cooper County on Friday, February 24, 2023.

According to a report from the Cooper County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy noticed a suspicious vehicle parked near a business in the 16000 block of Highway 135. The deputy made contact with the driver and vehicle and observed alleged illegal narcotics in plain view. While attempting to detain the individual an altercation ensued. Two citizens approached and attempted to aid the deputy during the altercation but the individual was able to return to his vehicle and fled the scene onto Interstate 70 where he was located by a second deputy. The individual exited the interstate and proceeded to drive his vehicle through several fences and into a pond on Highway B.

The Cooper County Prosecuting Attorney has filed formal charges against Roger Davis for possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.

Bond for Davis has been set at $150,000 cash or surety.

No court date has been set.
