A Marshall woman has been charged with a felony after a burglary was reported in Saline County in August of 2022.

According to a probable cause statement, a woman came into the Saline County Sheriff’s Department lobby to report a burglary at her residence in Nelson. The victim reported that multiple thefts occurred, which resulted in a television, remote, and a suitcase full of items was allegedly stolen.

The victim provided video footage to authorities, who identified Courtney Payne at the residence during the burglaries. Payne has a criminal history, which included two convictions for burglary and two convictions for stealing.

Court documents say Payne is charged with a felony for burglary in the second degree, as well as a misdemeanor for stealing. Bond has been set at $7,500 cash or surety with 10 percent allowed with conditions.

An arrest warrant has been issued. No court date has been set at this time.
