
The Boonville City council heard first readings on bills to amend marijuana ordinances and zoning for facilities at its meeting on Monday, March 6, 2023.
The bills would amend medical marijuana ordinances covering current medical marijuana and change zoning ordinances for certain facilities according to City Administrator Kate Fjell.
The council also heard the first reading on an ordinance to increase water rates 9.5 percent and wastewater services 8.5 percent due to increases in chemical, labor and other commodity prices.
The bills would have to be passed after a second reading at the next council meeting on March 20, 2023 for final approval.
In other news from the meeting, the council approved an agreement with Frech Paving Company of Columbia, for 2023 street improvements in the city.
