
A Little Rock, Arkansas man has been charged with multiple felonies after in incident that took place in the Saline County Jail on February 11, 2022.
According to a probable cause statement, Saline County Jail staff were alerted to a loud noise coming from a cell. A deputy opened the cell door and observed Christopher Armstrong had allegedly removed two metal ceiling panels. Deputies entered the cell and Armstrong was allegedly attempting to remove more ceiling panels and had part of the metal panel track system in his hand attempting to pull the track from the ceiling. Armstrong refused commands from the deputies and was tased and eventually restrained. A white piece of metal from the ceiling track system that was folded and had a sharp jagged edge that came to a point was found on Armstrong. Deputies believed the object to be a weapon.
Armstrong continued to resist and allegedly bit one of the deputies on the right forearm causing a small laceration.
According to court documents, a warrant was issued on Thursday, March 9, 2023 charging Armstrong with felonies for possession of a weapon in a county jail, third degree assault of a special victim and first degree property damage.
Bond has been set at $15,000 cash only with conditions.
No court date has been set.
