The Sedalia City Council approved an ordinance accepting a state and local cybersecurity grant during its meeting on Monday, March 6, 2023.

City Administrator Kelvin Shaw stated the grant is for upgrading security in city computer systems.

The grant is in the amount of $161,224.34.

In other news from the meeting, the council voted down a proposed ordinance that would allow alcohol use in city parks. Currently alcohol is only allowed by approval of the council for special events and at certain times. The ban on alcohol use in the parks will now remain in effect.
