The Sedalia City Council discussed its relationship with the Pioneer Trails Regional Planning Commission during its meeting on Monday, March 6, 2023.
Pioneer Trails currently does planning in Pettis, Saline, Lafayette and Johnson counties. According to City Administrator Kelvin Shaw, the council has discontinued paying dues to the commission due to the belief that the city is not gaining anything in the relationship. Shaw also stated the dues were not included in the budget during discussions at a recent council work session.
Shaw stated that the council would need convincing from Pioneer Trails to place the dues back in the budget.
