An Odessa woman was seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident in Johnson County on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the accident occurred when a vehicle driven by Kay Hickmann of Odessa, was attempting to pass a vehicle driven by Lisa Gass, also of Odessa. Gass attempted to enter the median crossover causing Hickmann’s vehicle to strike her vehicle on the left side.

Gass was transported by the Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center with serious injuries. Hickmann suffered minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.

The accident occurred at 5:35 p.m. on Highway 50 in Johnson County.
