An Oak Grove man has been charged with felony forgery in Pettis County.
According to a probable cause statement, a victim purchased a new truck from Stephanie Morris Nissan in Sedalia. The victim stated he dealt with Nicholas Collard in the finance department. The victim requested a sales contract from the dealer several times and eventually obtained one from the Nissan Corporation at which time he noticed his electronic signature had allegedly been forged.
A Pettis County Sheriff’s Department deputy executed a search warrant on the dealership on Friday, March 10, 2023 and seized the packet which contained the victim’s paperwork. The electronic signature on the documents was observed to be completely different from the signature on the sales contract and appeared to also have been allegedly forged.
Collard has been charged with a felony for forgery. Bond is set at $7,500 cash or surety.
No court date has been set.
