Boonslick Technical Education Center (BTEC) DECA sent 17 students to the 2023 Missouri DECA State Career Development Conference (SCDC) in Kansas City on March 12-14 with more than 2500 other members.

While some members competed in various events, Tanner White campaigned for Missouri DECA State Vice President of Business Partnerships. In addition to competing, Myah Vincent, Missouri DECA’s 2022-23 State Vice President of Advocacy, also spoke on-stage during sessions before members throughout the conference.

Placing at State:
Myah Vincent – Apparel and Accessory Marketing – Top 10 Finalist,
Hailee Williams – Professional Selling Event – Top 10 Finalist,
Ryan Jones – Principles of Business Management and Administration – 1st Place,
Tyson Ellison – Sports and Entertainment Marketing – 2nd Place.

Tanner White was also elected the 2023-24 Missouri DECA State Vice President of Business Partnerships after a lengthy campaign, including delegate presentations, a written test, an interview, an on-stage Q&A, and a popular vote. Tanner will be one of six Missouri DECA’s 76th State Action Team members.

The largest-ever BTEC student group has qualified to attend DECA’s International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Florida, from April 21-27, 2023.

These students include:
-Tanner White and Hailee Williams- School-Based Enterprise Retail Operations
-Keira Saulter and Josie Ray- School-Based Enterprise Food Service Operations
-Tyson Ellison- Sports and Entertainment Marketing
-Ryan Jones- Principles of Business Management and Administration
-Myah Vincent- State Officer and voting delegate
