John B. Greer, 83, of Sweet Springs, MO, died Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at The Living Center in Marshall, MO.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Sweet Springs, with Pastor Leigh Hartley officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home in Sweet Springs. Burial will be in Hopewell Baptist Cemetery in Hughesville, MO. Born June 21, 1939, in Sedalia, MO, he was the son of the late Gordon Aaron Greer and Marian Payne Greer. He was a lifelong resident of Saline and Pettis counties and was a member of Local Teamsters 995 in Kansas City, KS. He loved hunting, fishing and gardening and was a member of the NRA and a life member of the Missouri Conservation Association.

Survivors include three children, Tammy Carlyle (Kenny) of Birch Tree, MO, Boyd Greer (Linda) of Houstonia, MO and John Greer (Debbie) of Sweet Springs; five grandchildren, Melissa, Bradly, Heather, Curtis and Andrea; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gordena Lee McDonald of Sedalia and Marilyn Jane Motti of Carbondale, IL; and several nieces nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his companion of more than 40 years, Wilma Williams.
