Emergency crews were dispatched to the area of West Broadway Boulevard and Industrial Road in reference to a pedestrian accident on Thursday, March 30.

According to the Sedalia Police Department, two juveniles were attempting to cross Broadway Boulevard, east of Industrial Road while pushing their bicycles.

The juveniles waited for traffic to slow and stop for them. While crossing, the juveniles were struck by a car in the westbound lane.

A 14-year-old juvenile sustained serious injuries and was transported to Missouri University by the Pettis County Ambulance District. The second juvenile did not reportedly suffer any injuries.

The incident remains under investigation by the Sedalia Police Department Traffic Unit. Any witnesses are encouraged to contact the unit at 660-826-8100.
