The Slater City Council considered renewing a contract with the Saline County Emergency Management Agency during its meeting on Tuesday, April 4.

The Saline County Emergency Management Agency sends out a new contract to area towns every year. City Administrator Gene Griffith discussed some of the benefits of being a member with the agency.

The council voted to remain members with the agency. The cost for the city for this coming year is $3,280, according to Griffith.

In other news, a rabies shot clinic is scheduled in the city from 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 13 at the Slater Volkfest Building. The cost of a rabies shot is $20.
