Student members of the Missouri Sigma Chapter of Alpha Chi National Honor Society attended the society’s national convention held in Albuquerque, New Mexico, from March 30-April 1. Four students presented scholarly work:

-Ana Arroyo presented “Antimicrobial Properties of the Epidermal Mucous Layer of Green Sunfish (Lepomis Cyanellus) in the Salt Fork Creek, Saline County, Missouri”
-Joao Vitor Bonanoni presented “Louder Than Words”
-Vitor Furiati presented “Job Motivation and Organizational Behavior”
-Tess Kinne presented “Human > Athlete”

Missouri Sigma chapter co-sponsors Christopher Libby and Andrew Linsenbardt served as session judges at the convention. Libby judged presentations in philosophy, religion, and biomedical ethics. Linsenbardt judged multidisciplinary collaborative research projects that explored the theme, “Action For Our Atmosphere.”

In addition, Missouri Valley’s Missouri Sigma Chapter was recognized as a 2021-22 Notable Chapter, one of only 18 chapters to be so recognized.

Alpha Chi National College Honor Society invites to membership juniors, seniors, and graduate students from all disciplines in the top ten percent of their classes. Active on nearly 300 campuses nationwide, chapters induct approximately 10,000 students annually. Since the Society’s founding in 1922, Alpha Chi members have dedicated themselves to “making scholarship effective for good.” Alpha Chi is a member in good standing of the Association of College Honor Societies, the only national accrediting body for collegiate honor societies.
