
The Kansas City Royals opened an inter-league series against the San Francisco Giants with a 3-1 win.
Vinnie Pasquantino and Salvador Perez both hit their first home runs of the season. Royals starter Brad Keller went 5 2/3 innings, giving up 1 run, and striking out 3. Scott Barlow pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the save.
Giants starter Alex Cobb picked up the loss despite pitching a quality start. Cobb went 7 innings, giving up 2 runs.
The Royals move to 2-6 with the win.
