The Saline County Commission approved a motion to sign onto the next round of National Opioid Settlement funds during its meeting on Wednesday, April 12.

Saline County Prosecuting Attorney Tim Thompson reported that Saline County did sign onto the first settlement, but is now eligible for this next settlement.

Payment eligibility is to be determined. Thomson also wanted to make the commission aware that the county participating in this settlement does not preclude an individual from bringing a lawsuit, only the county.

In other news, the commission approved a request from the Saline County Fair Association for use of the Courthouse lawn for the Saline County Barbecue. The event is scheduled to be held on June 3.
