The Sweet Springs Board of Aldermen discussed bids for sludge removal at the city lagoon during its meeting on Monday, April 10, 2023.

Three bids were received for the service. Cooper Nutrient Management at $385,000, Countryside Ag Services, LLC. at $426,000 and Hodges Farms and Dredging, LLC at $575,000. The board unanimously approved the Cooper Nutrient Management bid with the agreement that the company speaks with the city if any sludge over an estimated 7.1 million gallons remains.

In other news from the meeting the board approved a contract for marking and dragging the ball fields with S and S Mowing at a cost of $500 for marking and $500 for dragging.

The board also dissolved the old board and newly elected officials were sworn in.
