
A manslaughter case involving a Fayette man has been moved from Howard to Cooper County.
According to a probable cause statement, Kundarrius Kinte Taylor allegedly shot and killed Torrance Evans, a Central Methodist student on the evening of August 25, 2022 just off campus. Taylor allegedly admitted under questioning that he and the victim had not been getting along and the victim was making verbal demands to Taylor. Taylor brandished a pistol from his backpack and fired twice killing Evans.
Taylor was initially charged with first degree murder in the incident.
Accordng to court documents, Cooper County was notified on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 of the change in venue.
Taylor is charged with felonies for first degree involuntary manslaughter and unlawful use of a weapon.
A hearing is scheduled for Monday, June 12, 2023 at Cooper County Circuit Court.
