
Janet R. Luetjen, 75, of Sedalia, died Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023 at her home.
She was born May 27, 1947 in Sedalia, a daughter of the late John V. and Anna M. Doogs Meyers. On August 19, 1967 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sedalia she was married to Gary L. Luetjen who preceded her in death on March 27, 2008.
Janet was raised and educated in Sedalia and was a 1965 graduate of Sacred Heart High School. She was a secretary at Third National Bank for 27 years until her retirement. She was member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. After her retirement, she enjoyed her home , her two dogs and her flowers.
She is survived by two sisters, Marjorie Knedgen (Darrell) of Pilot Grove and Linda Binney of Sedalia; four brothers, John Meyers of Albuquerque, NM, Darrell Meyers of Sedalia, Gary Meyers (Sharon) of Sedalia and Ralph Meyers (Cathy) of Sedalia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by brothers-in-law Curtis Luetjen and Dean Binney; a sister-in-law Janet Meyers; two nephews, Joe Meyers and Eric Binney; a niece Delores Burke; and her little dogs Sydney and Teddy.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2023 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, St. Patrick Chapel with Father Joe Corel officiating. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Sedalia Animal Shelter or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
