The Sweet Springs Police Department, in collaboration with the Sweet Springs R7 Schools and Pettis County Sheriff Brad Anders, conducted a search for contraband in the school On Tuesday, April 18, 2023.

The search was carried out in response to concerns regarding illegal items on school premises. The Sweet Springs Police Department and Pettis County Sheriff’s Office worked together with school administrators and staff to ensure the safety and security of all students.

During the event Sergeant Long with K9 Lord and Deputy Moore with K9 Cav, searched the lockers and other areas of the school for any prohibited items. The search was carried out with the utmost care and professionalism to ensure that students’ rights were protected at all times. The search resulted in numerous K9 “hits,” however, no contraband was discovered.

The collaboration between law enforcement and school officials highlights the importance of keeping schools safe for students and staff. It also serves as a reminder that illegal items have no place on school grounds and will not be tolerated.
