The new Marshall City Council, under the direction of newly elected Mayor Vincent Lutterbie, voted to pursue mediation regarding the allegations brought up against Ward 1 Councilman Drew Green.
Lutterbie says that mediation is preferable to litigation, and requested the council’s approval.
Both sides will need to come up with some sort of agreement by May 1, 2023. The council may need to approve a mediator as well.
The council voted to pursue mediation with a unanimous vote.
Prior to the new council being sworn in, the old city council approved the agreement with Englemeyer and Pezzani, LLC to oversee the disciplinary hearing regarding Green. However, it is understood by the council that if the hearing does not take place and the firm’s services are not utilized, then the city wouldn’t owe the firm anything.
