The Carrollton Town Council announced the new city officials during its meeting on Monday, April 17, 2023.

City Administrative Assistant Terry Bell stated Jim Bowen was elected Ward 4 Councilman and John Sweeney was elected as new mayor.

According to Bell, the new officials will be sworn in on Saturday, April 29, 2023.

In other news from the meeting, the council approved closing the downtown streets for the First Fridays events in May and August and the Wine and Beer Stroll, which will be held in September.
