A Bates City man has been charged with a sex-related felony in Lafayette County.

According to a probable cause statement, authorities were told by a 15-year-old victim’s father that there had been alleged sexual contact between the victim and Bryan Renfro. The victim stated to authorities that Renfro had allegedly provided THC, alcohol, and vape cartridges to the victim and her cousin.

During a forensic interview, the victim stated that she and Renfro were allegedly drinking in his room over Thanksgiving weekend 2022, and sexual contact ensued.

Authorities were informed on April 13 that Renfro was allegedly at the victim’s residence. The victim’s parents stated the could see Renfro standing at the back door and a verbal exchange ensued. The residence had no trespassing signs posted.

Court documents say Renfro is charged with a felony for sexual acts, tampering or attempting to tamper with a victim in a felony prosecution, and first degree harassment, as well as a misdemeanor for trespassing.

No bond has been set.

Renfro was arraigned on April 24. A hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 3 at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
