The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved an interim tariff filed by Evergy Missouri West, Inc. doing business as Evergy Missouri West to adjust the fuel and purchased power adjustment clause (FAC) charge on the bills of its electric customers.

The interim charge relates to a case filed by Evergy Missouri West in January which sought to change the FAC to reflect changes in its fuel and purchased power costs for the six month period of June 2022 through November 2022. Evergy Missouri West also filed its true-up case.

The interim tariff reflects costs that are not in dispute in this case. The Commission is scheduled to hold hearings on the remaining issues in this case June 21-22, 2023.

For a residential customer using 1,000 kWh (kilowatt-hours) of electricity a month, the FAC will drop, on an interim basis, by approximately $3.53 a month. This change is scheduled to take effect on Monday, May 1, 2023 and will remain in effect until the Commission approves a new FAC rate.

Evergy Missouri West provides electric service to customers in Carroll, Johnson, Lafayette and Pettis counties in the KMMO listening area.
