Two Slater residents were injured in a crash in Saline County on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Melissa Jennings traveled into the path of a vehicle driven by 54-year-old Richard Fizer while attempting to negotiate a curve, resulting in a head-on collision.

Fizer was transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital with moderate injuries. Jennings was transported by Slater EMS to University hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.

The accident occurred at 7:30 a.m. on Northbound Missouri Route O at 320th Road in Saline County.
